Public potluck dinner Aug. 5

English immersion students at Penobscot School

Jul 21, 2014
Students from China, Colombia, Italy and Spain gather following their final presentations on the last day of their three-week immersion.

Penobscot School in Rockland invites the public to a welcome potluck dinner Tuesday, Aug. 5, at 6 p.m. at the school, as students from Germany, Japan and Mexico begin their intensive English program. This is the second such session offered this summer.

Students from around the globe participate in three-week immersion programs each year in order to better their English. The program is classroom and experientially-based as students study various topics such as art, music and boating in the morning and turn their learning into practice during directly related afternoon and evening excursions to local venues such as the Farnsworth Art Museum, Bay Chamber Concerts and Station Maine.
