Empty Bowl Supper set at Camden Hills

Dec 09, 2013
Ceramic bowls handmade by Camden Hills Regional High School art students will go home with those who attend the annual Empty Bowls Supper.

Rockport — The annual Winter Choral Concert will be preceded as usual by an Empty Bowl Supper Monday, Dec. 16, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Wave Café of Camden Hills Regional High School, Route 90. Everyone is encouraged to leave their kitchens and silverware clean and come on out for an evening of good food and music.

Pottery/clay students and their teacher work to create ceramic handcrafted bowls for the benefit event. The community is invited to a simple, but “gourmet” meal of soup and bread. In exchange for a donation, guests are asked to keep a bowl as a reminder of all the empty bowls in the world. The money raised is donated to local food pantries.

Suggested donation is $8, with a $25 cap for families. There also will be a silent auction of crafts during the supper; to donate soup or handmade craft or gift for the auction, email Russel_Kahn@fivetowns.net.

For the concert, which follows at 7 p.m. in Strom Auditorium, suggested donation is item(s) for the food drive. Snow date for both events is Wednesday, Dec. 18.
