Firefighters respond to blown light at courthouse

Rockland — While Rockland crews were busy at a motor vehicle crash in Owls Head at around 8 p.m. Dec. 13, a call came in for a fire at the Knox County Courthouse, according to a press release from the Rockland Fire Department.

The Thomaston Fire Department responded as mutual aid to the courthouse. The fire was in an outside light fixture near the sally port. The lens cover had broken off and the fixture emitted flame and smoke.

Firefighters disconnected power to the light.

The incident caused minor damage to the light. No one was injured.
