Elks host officer installation banquet

Rockland — Members of Rockland Elks Lodge 1008 were honored during a Installation of Officers Banquet March 22. In addition, several organizations received donations from the Lodge.

Lodge members were celebrated by Lodge President Bill Bachofner for their time and talent devoted to the success of the Lodge and its programs. Honored were: Arthur Fish with Outstanding Service Commendation, John Crabtree as Citizen of the Year, Richard Sprowl as Elk of the Year, Clayton Collins, Chaplain, was honored as Outstanding Service Commendation and Dana White was named Officer of the Year.

The following organizations were gifted monies from the $2,000 Elks National Foundation Gratitude Grant earned by Rockland Elks Lodge 1008 for meeting the Grand Lodge's Elks National Foundation per capita fundraising goal for Lodge Year 2013-2014.

Checks for $500 each were present to Rockland Public Library Youth Programs and Herring Gut Learning Center while a check for $1,000 was presented to Trekkers by Lodge President Bill Bachofner on behalf of the Lodge and the Elks National Foundation.
