Elizabeth O'Haverty brings new paintings to Old Salts Gallery
Terra Cognita, opening This week at Old Salts Gallery in Camden, will feature several new paintings and water colors by the Hope artist Elizabeth O'Haverty. In these land- and seascapes she captures "the dynamic of the arrested moment...kinetic and potential energy much the way photographers work.
These small paintings are in great contrast to work Elizabeth and James O'Haverty did through their business, Environmental Design Associates, painting huge murals on the walls of buildings all over the United States. They are juxtaposed to photographs by Clare Mohs of scenes at Popham Beach, and encaustic paintings by Victoria Pittman that suggest ocean, forests and desert landscapes.
Terra Cognita opens this Thursday, August 2 from 6-9pm and runs through labor Day. Support Contemporary art in Camden!
