Elephant-assisted art event
Hope — Sweet Tree Arts, 4 Church St., will host an Art Stomp Sale — an opportunity to purchase art created by artists and elephants — Friday, Nov. 15, at 7 p.m. Images are on view at the Hope General Store until the sale.
Local artists Julie Crane, Suzanne Southworth, Kathleen Gass, Jackie Dunham, Lindsay Pinchbeck and Antonia Monroe are among the artists who created original monotypes and art work in collaboration with Opal the elephant, who provided the “stomp” (pressure) to make their images.
The images have generously been framed by Christine Buckley of Christine's Gallery and will be sold in a silent auction at the Art Stomp Sale. Profits benefit the artists, Hope Elephants and Sweet Tree Arts.
Long Grain has generously donated hors d'oeuvres for the event and Thai beverages will be offered. Hope Elephants director Andrew Stewart will make a presentation sharing the message and mission of Hope Elephants.
This event is free and open to the public, but limited seats are available and reservations are required to attend, as space is limited. To register, visit sweettreearts.org or call 763-2770.
