Mid-Coast School of Technology Open House
ROCKLAND — Parents, guardians, and community members are invited to attend the Fall Parent-Teacher Conference/Open House to be held at Mid-Coast School of Technology on Thursday, Oct. 18 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. At 5 p.m., pizza and baked goods made by the Hospitality students will be for sale in the café.
Parents and community members will have the opportunity to meet with technology and academic instructors in the classroom and shop areas from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
A special invitation is extended to the freshmen and sophomores of the local sending high schools to come and see what is available for programs.
Lincolnville parent meeting Oct. 25
LINCOLNVILLE — There will be a presentation for parents of children in kindergarten, first, and second grades to report on the steps Lincolnville Central School is taking to meet the state mandate with regard to standards, or proficiency-based education.
The meeting will be held beginning at 6 p.m. in Walsh Common. The school will serve dinner and make arrangements for the eighth-grade students to provide child care as part of their class trip fundraising.

SAD 40 adult ed schedules investing workshops
WALDOBORO — Jerod Cronkite of Edward Jones will run two workshops, Social Security: Your Questions Answered and Preparing Your Estate Plan.
The Social Security workshop, held Tuesday, Oct. 23 from 6 to 8 p.m., will inform those who are thinking about retirement to understand their options regarding Social Security.
The estate plan workshop, scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 30 from 6 to 8 p.m., will help familiarize people with the basic steps of estate planning, including the function of a will and the different types of trusts. An attorney will be present to answer questions.
