Bruce graduates from basic training
COLUMBIA, S.C. — Army Pfc. Samuel Bruce has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.
During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches, and field training exercises.
Bruce is the son of Sue Martin of Thomaston.
He is a 2007 graduate of Georges Valley High School. He earned an associate's degree in 2011 from Southern Maine Community College, South Portland.
Students complete summer internships
NEW LONDON, N.H. — Internships are field experiences designed to provide a student learning opportunity under collaborative supervision between Colby-Sawyer College faculty, staff, and work site professionals. Internships offer the opportunity for students to enhance their academic programs with work experience related to career interests in all industry areas in national and international settings.
