E. Vaughn Deal
Camden — E. Vaughn Deal, 87, passed away peacefully Monday, June 16, at Quarry Hill in Camden surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Medford, Mass. Jan. 26, 1927, the son of the late Elvin and Mabel (Vaughn) Deal. Vaughn grew up in Medford and Wesley and attended and graduated from Taber Academy. After completion of high school he joined the United States Navy serving during World War II. Upon completing his time in the service he returned home and began attending Boston University. Upon graduation from Boston University he was recalled back into service and served again during the Korean War.
His career was spent working for various companies including WR Grace Company and Rule Industries. His career spanned nearly 30 years before retiring at the age of 57.
Vaughn had a passion for the ocean and sailing. He always had a foot in the ocean, and loved to be on his boat. He spent as much time on his boat as possible and loved to take it out on various trips. He raised his children on the boat and passed down a love of the ocean to them.
He will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all that knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years Carol Deal of Camden; daughter Debbie Deal of Friendship; Son Vaughn Deal of Cushing; granddaughter Emily White of Pennsylvania.
A celebration of his life will be held Monday, June 30, at 2 p.m. with Pastors Steve and Rosie Young officiating at Hall Funeral Home, 78 Main St. Thomaston.
