Driver in rollover crash dies
Hope — Cameron Dow, 20, of Hope, died Sunday, Dec. 1, after he was involved in a crash Nov. 27 on Alford Lake Road.
According to Knox County Sheriff's Office, Dow swerved to avoid a tree that had come down in the road because of high winds and lost control of the Landrover he was driving. A press release from the sheriff's office said the car rolled over a couple of times before hitting a tree.
The press release said speed was a factor in the crash.
Dow's passenger, Riley Francis, 18, of Fayette, had minor injuries. He was treated at Pen Bay Medical Center and released.
Dow was first taken to Pen Bay, then to Maine Medical Center in Portland, where he died.
He was a student at Roger Williams College in Rhode Island, and graduated in 2012 from Kents Hill School in Readfield.
His family has set up a Facebook community page in his memory, titled RIP Cameron Dow. They have requested friends to post any photos or stories about him there.
