Down in Front
Daniel Dunkle is news director for Courier Publications.
He has worked in local journalism for nearly 16 years, including reporting for The Courier-Gazette and editing The Republican Journal and Waldo Independent.
When it comes to writing columns and blog entries, he is more interested in the lighter side of life. His wife, Christine; his 13-year-old son, Wesley; and his 8-year-old daughter, Samantha, have appeared in numerous columns over the years, as have members of his extended family.
In addition to slice-of-life stories, Dan has a continuing interest in all things pop culture: movies, TV, music and video games. Movies involving aliens, atomic monsters, space bounty hunters and post-apocalyptic road warriors are among his favorites.
For the past few months he has been working to perfect Sweet Child O' Mine on his old electric guitar. The results have been mixed.
