Dow to serve on Maine Yankee Community Advisory Panel
Wiscasset — State Sen. Dana Dow (R-Lincoln) has again agreed to serve on the Maine Yankee Community Advisory Panel in the Lincoln County legislative delegation position.
Maine Yankee created CAP in 1997 to advise the company on decommissioning, site cleanup and nuclear fuel storage while providing opportunities for public education and input. While the site was fully decommissioned 12 years ago, CAP still oversees the storage of the spent nuclear fuel and high-level waste to ensure proper storage and compliance with all applicable regulations until the federal government removes the material, as mandated by the Nuclear Waste Policy Act.
Dow previously served on the CAP from 2005 to 2008 during his first term in the Maine Senate.
