Most people know about Thomaston sea captains Samuel Watts, George I. Robinson and Edward O’Brien; also familiar are Gen. Henry Knox, Sen.John Ruggles and Congressman Jonathan Cilley. But there were many other people who had a profound effect on the development of Thomaston. They ran local businesses, established churches, built houses, educated their children and invested in the town’s future.
