District 2 Little League all-star tournaments on-deck
Rosters for area squads listedWith the Midcoast Little League championship games in the rear view mirror, all-star teams have been chosen as local youths continue their summer diamond play in the hope of bringing home district and possibly state championships in the coming weeks.
The 11- and 12-year-old all-star softball season began with exhibition games June 19, while the tournament is slated to begin Monday, June 25. Rockland, Camden-Rockport and Knox Suburban will participate in the District 2 tournament. The winner will represent District 2 in the state tournament, which will begin Friday, July 6 in Bar Harbor.
Also, the Waldoboro 10-11 softball team will participate in the 11-12 exhibition season, but will not participate in the District 2 11-12 tournament. The Waldoboro 10-11 team will participate in the 10-11 state tournament, time and date to be announced.
The 11-12 all-star baseball season will begin with exhibition games Saturday, June 23, while the tournament is slated to begin Sunday, July 1. Rockland, Lincoln County, Camden-Rockport, Knox Suburban, Waldoboro and Waldo County will participate in the District 2 tournament. The winner will represent District 2 in the state tournament, which will begin Friday, July 20 in Bar Harbor.
The 10-11 all-star baseball season will begin with exhibition games Saturday, July 7, while the tournament is slated to begin Saturday, July 14. Camden-Rockport is the only known local team participating in the tournament. The winner will represent District 2 in the state tournament, which will begin Saturday, July 28 in Waldoboro.
The 9-10 all-star softball season will begin with exhibition games Thursday, June 21, while the tournament is slated to begin Saturday, June 30. Rockland, Knox Suburban and Camden-Rockport will participate in the District 2 tournament. The winner will represent District 2 in the state tournament, which will begin Saturday, July 14 in Auburn.
The 9-10 all-star baseball season will begin with exhibition games Sunday, June 24, while the tournament is slated to begin Thursday, June 28. Rockland, Waldo County, Lincoln County, Waldoboro, Knox Suburban and Camden-Rockport will participate in the District 2 tournament. The team is managed by Jason Butman and coached by Sebastian Arnsdorf. The scorekeeper is Alan Harvey.
Rockland 9-10 baseball — Everett Allyn, Will Eaton, Jude Forti, Karl Ilvonen, Jason LeBlond, Abe LeMole, Carson Murphy, Austin Pagano, Logan Putansu, Trevor Reed, Ben Ripley, Cole Stevens and Tyler Sukeforth. The team is managed by John Murphy and coached by Russell Stevens. The scorekeeper is Davin Putansu.
Rockland 11-12 softball — Hannah Ames, Jordan Brackett, Taylor Hamlin, Emily Hutchinson, Alexis Mazurek, Gilleyanne Davis-Oakes, Casey Pine, Kimberly Roman, Grace Young, Gabrielle Simmons, Payten Simmons, Molly Spencer and Olivia Staples. Team alternates include Paige Dennison, Deja Doughty, Erin Dugan and Zoe Goff. The team is managed by Chris Roman and coached by Steve Pine. The scorekeeper is Cindi Hamlin.
Rockland 9-10 softball — Julia Bartlett, Jasmine Bouchard, Hope Butler, Olivia Dougherty, Kaycee Foster, Lydia Gamage, Molly Gould, Rachel Joyce, Nicole Ladd, Drew Simmons, Gabrielle Straka and Annie Willis. Team alternates include Mara Carpenter, Marina Davis, Jackie Hall, Hannah Newton and Grace Woodman. The team is managed by Greg Gould and coached by Bruce Gamage.
Waldoboro 10-11 softball — Cassidy Benner, Olivia Sevon, Gabby DePatsy, Cassi Smeltzer, Sadie Cohen, Addie Jamesom, Josie Jameson, Lydia Simmons, Maddy White, Alyssa Blackler, Abbie Nelson and Mickayla Wallace. The team is coached by Audra Carlson and Kayla Santheson.
Waldoboro 11-12 baseball — Brett Collamore, Ben Dever, Josh Goldrup, Caleb Benner, Alex Zelinski, Ian Kavan, Will Perry, Quinn Ashmore, Duncan Morrell Jr., Nathan Emerson and Wyatt Post. The team is coached by Jake Emerson, Alan Dever and Duncan Morrell.
Waldoboro 9-10 baseball — Wyatt Fillmore, Kallon Mortensen, Scott Robinson, Max Moody, Lucas Webber, Jordan Powell, C.J. Sproul, Duncan Widdecombe, Wesley Winchenbach, Jonah Miller and Braeden Simmons. The team is coached by Matt Moody and Scott Martin.
Knox Suburban 11-12 softball — Gillian Lafleche, Payton Wiley, Katelyn York, Hallie Kunesh, Hannah Moholland, Lauryn Arsenault, Kristina Ferguson, Madisen Maxwell, Chloe Jones, Emilee Clough and Laticia Billings. The team is coached by Scott Wiley and Pete Billings.
