Newcastle — The Oceanside wrestling team, despite its lack of athletes, continues to perform well in its first year as a club sport following the Mariners' tri-meet with Winslow and host Lincoln Academy of Newcastle on Wednesday, Jan. 2.

The host Eagles doubled up the Mariners 48-24, while the Black Raiders earned a convincing 53-6 win. Oceanside prevailed in several individual matches in the meet, but again fell prey to forfeits in many weight classes, which continues to keep Oceanside from winning dual-meets.

The individual Oceanside results, with Mariners listed first, were:

113 pounds — Jonathan Robishaw won by forfeit over Lincoln Academy; and pinned R. Lapointe, Win, at 0:55.

120 pounds — Dallas Ball pinned Lucas Verrier, LA, at 1:41; and lost by technical fall to D. Pelletier, Win.

160 pounds — Tony Baudanza was pinned by Drew Bryant, LA, at 4:34; and was pinned by D. Camp, Win, at 1:44.

195 pounds — Travis Stone pinned Mickey McAtee, LA, at 1:03; and was pinned by N. Beckwith, Win, at 1:47.

285 pounds — Alex Rackliffe pinned Cody Dighton, LA, at 2:47; and was pinned by A. Lint, Win, at 1:03.
