Dervish brings the Irish to town
Rockland — Just in time for St. Patrick’s Day, the Strand Theatre, 345 Main St., will welcome Dervish, known as the Irish Heartbeat, to the stage Friday, March 8, at 7:30 pm.
Wowing audiences all over the world with its seasoned brand of Celtic music, Dervish has risen to the top of its genre over the past 10 years. Dervish hails from the North West of Ireland and has shared the stage with such popular acts as REM and Sting in front of a crowd of 250,000 at Brazil’s Rock In Rio music festival, the first Irish band to perform at this event. Dervish has toured the world including Italy, Spain, The Netherlands, Israel, Switzerland, Sweden and Greece, as well as its native Irish homeland, and has proven itself to be one of the best Irish bands playing today.
