Deputies charge four in break-in at Hope camps
Hope — Knox County Sheriff's Office Deputies Paul Pinkham and Paul Spear, Detective Don Murray and Sgt. Michael Sprague responded to reports of suspicious activities near Island Avenue and Morton Lane in Hope June 16, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office. Individuals were reported running around local camps.
Spear and Pinkham located a group of minors and adults at a nearby camp. The deputies said four members of the group, including Troy Landry, 19, of Rockport, broke into one of the camps and stole food, liquor and sparklers. The other three individuals, one woman and two men, were juveniles.
Four individuals were charged with burglary and theft by unauthorized taking for breaking into various camps between 10 p.m. and midnight that night.
Landry was arrested and taken to Knox County Jail.
