May 26, 2014
Susan Shaw will discuss daylilies at Lincolnville Community Library Wednesday, June 4.

Lincolnville — Susan Shaw of Camden will present Daylilies and Companions: Four-season Gardening in the Midcoast Wednesday, June 4, at 7 p.m. at the Lincolnville Community Library.

Shaw has been growing and hybridizing daylilies for many years and has hundreds of colorful varieties in her Camden gardens. She will show how she brings her passion for daylilies and her love of color, form, fragrance and texture into four-season gardening. Evergreens, ground covers, vines, fruits, vegetables, fragrant flowering shrubs, and daylilies and other perennials may all be used to round out the garden, she said.

Shaw has a degree in fine art from Bates College and is a longtime professional gardener. She joined the Merryspring Nature Park Board of Trustees five years ago.

The library is located at 208 Main St. in Lincolnville Center. For more information, call 763-4343 or email lincolnvillelibrary@tidewater.net.
