Dancing 4 Fun, in a new locationSunday Night Salsa also moving
Rockland — Dancing 4 Fun, the free weekly night of freestyle dancing, is moving with Studio RED to 143 Rankin St., the former DOT building transformed into a dance and fitness center.
Beginning Nov. 5, Dancing 4 Fun will meet every Tuesday from 7:30 to 9 p.m. in the first-floor dance studio, which boasts a state-of-the-art suspended wooden floor. The building is handicapped accessible.
Dancing 4 Fun is run by people who love to dance to all kinds of music. It is neither a dance class nor a "social dance" but rather a place people can move any way they like for fun and health to all kinds of recorded music; attendees are welcome to being their own CDs or mp3 players to add their favorite dance tunes to the mix.
There is no fee for Dancing 4 Fun, although donations are welcome to help cover the rent. Dancing is perhaps the most fun one can have exercising and is good for both body and soul. Also following Studio RED to the new location is Sunday Night Salsa, which offers a weekly opportunity to dance the salsa, merengue and bachata from 7 to 8:30 p.m., with casual instruction and encouragement by Nohora Estes and Heuris Matos.
