‘Dam’ author at Waldoboro library

Waldoboro — Waldoboro Public Library, 958 Main St./Route 220, will host author Earl H. Smith Saturday, Feb. 15, at 1 p.m. as part of the Friends of the Library Speaker Series.

Smith's first novel, “The Dam Committee,” is a light-hearted mystery set in a small Maine town. Smith, a Maine native, is a retired dean of Colby College. In addition to “The Dam Committee,” he has written “Mayflower Hill,” a history of Colby College. He lives in Belgrade Lakes.

A follow-up, “More Dam Trouble,” will be released April 7 by North Country Press. The public is welcome to the free program. Books will be available for purchase, cash or check only, and signing. For more information, call 832-4484 or visit waldoborolibrary.org.
