Warren — Daisy L. Overlock, 75, died peacefully, surrounded by her family, following a period of declining health, Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012 at Waldo County General Hospital in Belfast.

Born on Deer Isle, May 22, 1937, she was the daughter of Ida Wotton. Following Mrs. Wotton’s death when Daisy was only 2 years old, she was adopted by her aunt and uncle, Henry and Agnes Wotton Hutchinson, whom she considered her parents. Daisy grew up in Rockland and was a graduate of Rockland High School.

Following high school, Daisy married Donald Overlock on May 29, 1956, whom she had met at a dance in Rockland. The two made their home in Warren all their married life.

Daisy was a devoted mother and homemaker who spent countless hours caring for her five children.

Daisy enjoyed the outdoors, loved bird watching, feeding the birds and tending vegetable and flower gardens. She had a love for animals of all kinds, especially her daughters two Pomeranians, Solo and Lacey.

Most recently Mrs. Overlock has resided at Harbor Hill Nursing Home in Belfast where she had made many friends.

Predeceased by her husband Donald Overlock; one daughter, Dena Overlock; a grandson, Danny Blastow; a son-in-law Dana Hathorne; two brothers Owen Hutchinson, Eddie Hutchinson; and three sisters, Ethel Mank, Ida Davis and Ruth Harvey; Daisy is survived by her son Dean Overlock and his wife Joy of Zephyr Hills, Fla.; three daughters, Dawn Hathorne of Union, Denise Rolerson and her husband Bryan Sr. of Liberty, Dale Harvey and her companion Jay Lundevall of Warren; one sister, Dorothy Blastow of Rockland; five grandchildren, Harry Blastow Jr. of Rockland, Teresa Blachet and her husband Michael of Waldoboro, Jeffery Blastow and his wife Bethany of Waldoboro, Bryan Rolerson Jr., Karen Rolerson of Liberty; and three great-grandchildren, Heaven, Emma and Cheyenne Wadford.

A celebration of Daisy’s life will be held at 9 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012 at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock St., Rockland. The Rev. Daniels will officiate.
