Déjà vu: Mariners, Windjammers compete for league pitch titles

Games rematches of last year's conference championships

The Camden Hills and Oceanside girls soccer teams will compete for their respective league championships in rematches of last year’s contests on Thursday, Oct. 20.

In Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A, Camden Hills (13-1) will face Bangor (14-0) at 3 p.m. at the Capitol Area Recreation Association facility in Augusta.

In Class B, Oceanside (10-1-3) will face Waterville (14-0) at 4 p.m. at Lincoln Academy of Newcastle.

The Rams dealt the Windjammers their lone loss of the regular season, a 3-2 decision on Sept. 20 in Rockport, as did the Purple Panthers to the Mariners in a 3-0 win on Sept. 30 in Thomaston.

In last year’s league championships, Bangor defeated Camden Hills 2-0 to net the Class A title and Oceanside defeated Waterville 3-1 to win the Class B crown.

The regional playoffs will begin with prelim games on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 21-22, with quarterfinal games to played the following week.
