Cushing — The Cushing Historical Society’s Arts in the Barn series will present the final presentation of the 2014 season, “The Cushing Canvas,” the last weekend of August. This is when the Cushing community comes together with its talent and diversity for the final show of the season.

The exhibition will open with a 5 to 7 p.m. reception Friday, Aug. 29, and continue Saturday, Aug. 30, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Sunday, Aug. 31, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the barn behind Cushing Historical Society's Meeting House on Hawthorn Point Road, off Pleasant Point Road.

Painters, sculptors, quilters, potters, authors, filmmakers, musicians and whatever more one has as a creative offering will be represented. Included will be Marieluise Hutchinson, who paints traditional, realistic, rural New England and spends her summers in Cushing.
