Crash leads to power outages, road closure
South Thomaston — A single-vehicle crash in South Thomaston Friday afternoon, July 20 led to power outages — some brief, others longer — throughout the area.
The truck crashed into a power pole at about 12:30 p.m. near Hoggy’s Store on Route 131. The driver declined to go to the hospital via ambulance. Crews were on scene working to clear the downed lines and restore power.
Route 131 at the intersection of Route 1 was closed to traffic. Traffic on Route 131 was rerouted through Westbrook Street, up Route 73, and then through Buttermilk Lane.
Route 131 was being opened to traffic at 3:45 p.m.
Central Maine Power reported no outages in Knox County at 7:45 p.m.
