CRARL: Hurry, half-price adoption fees on all cats and kittens ends soon
Thank you to everyone who joined us at our fifth annual Muttwalk and the Woofer and Wagon wash. The walkers for the Muttwalk enjoyed a nice stroll into town and back to the shelter where hot dogs and popcorn were waiting for them. There were several prizes given out, courtesy of Loyal Biscuit Co. Some of the winners were: most money raised by a child — Stone Williamson; and most money raised by a “pack” — Patrick and Andrea Benson, the “Mulville Mutt Kateers.”
Also on that day we had our annual Woofer and Wagon Wash. It was a perfect day to get your car and your dog washed, and many people did. We had lots of furry friends to wash, and each bath ended with a biscuit. What more could a dog ask for? There were plenty of shiny cars leaving the wash, and we couldn’t have done it without the volunteers and board members who helped out. In fact we wouldn’t be able to have our events without the help of our volunteers, staff and board members. A big thank you to all who helped make this all happen.
If you missed out on all the fun we had, make sure you keep updated by liking us on Facebook. You can see what event is happening next, help us locate the owners of lost dogs that come in and see pictures of some really cute animals. You can also find info online at crarl.org.
You still have time for our cat special. June is Adopt-A-Shelter Cat Month, and we have half-price adoption fees for all of our cats, even kittens. We have lots of cats who are waiting for a home. Stop in and check them out. Our hours of operation are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. We’re closed on Mondays for our weekly deep cleaning. ...Speaking of cleaning, we always need help with cleaning in the mornings and would love to have another pair of hands. If you’re interested in being a cat room cleaner volunteer, give us a call and we’ll fill you in and then fit you in.
Thank you to the group of CRMS students who stopped by to help us with our morning cleaning and see what exactly goes on here in the mornings. They helped cleaned the dog kennels and the cat pens; they swept and mopped; and, most important, they got to play with the kittens. Thank you for doing such a great job!
On our Wish List: paper towels, paper plates, towels, bleach, dry cat food and canned food for dogs and cats. Thank you for thinking of us!
Please stop in and see us and all our fantastic furry friends at 146 Camden St. in Rockport, or call 236-8702 to see what’s up. The shelter is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday, and crarl.org is never closed! Like us on Facebook! And thank you, as always, for your caring and support.
