Corrections K-9 handlers graduate

Augusta — Three Maine Department of Corrections Corporal K-9 handlers and their K-9 team members graduated, on June 13, the 14-week Patrol Canine (K-9) Team Certification/Recertification course at the Maine Criminal Justice Academy in Vassalboro.

Patrol Canine Team Certification/Recertification is intensive training, as a team, in obedience, agility, tracking, officer protection, building search, article search, criminal apprehension, and other related areas.

The MDOC graduates and their K-9 team members are Corrections Corporal K-9 Handlers Robert Bowen and Kane from the Maine State Prison; Richard Greene and TJ from the Maine State Prison, and Troy Hood and Gunner from Mountain View Youth Development Center.
