Cooking series begins March 20 in Rockport
Rockland — Parents, beginners in the kitchen and established cooks who are looking to expand their taste buds are all invited to Simple & Delicious, a new series of cooking classes that focus on simple, healthy and inexpensive recipes.
The classes will take place Thursdays, March 20, April 24 and May 22, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Picker Family Resource Center and are co-taught by cooking enthusiasts Donna Ames, Wendelanne Augunas and Linda Zeigler. Attend one or all three sessions.
The first session is Play With Your Food: Exploring Flavors. In this class students will use their individual flavor preferences to make their own guacamole, hummus, salsa and oven-baked tortilla chips and learn how a few simple changes in preparation can make food taste better and cost less.
Additional sessions include Eggs Aren’t Just For Breakfast on April 24 and Smoothies, Healthy Snacks & Desserts on May 22. Classes will cover new ideas and recipes for healthy meals, how to prepare healthy snacks and how to make favorite recipes healthier.
Cost for each class is $10. Space is limited; registration is required. Call 596-8950 to register or for more information.
Simple & Delicious is co-sponsored by the Picker Family Resource Center and the Zing! program.
