Cookbook launch for MCH Meals on Wheels

By Terri Casey | Oct 03, 2012

A book launch to celebrate the publication of The Community Table cookbook will be held on Friday, October 5 at the David Scriven Crowley Gallery in Rockland from 5-9 p.m. Coinciding with Rockland's First Friday Art Walk, the book launch will benefit MCH Meals on Wheels.

The Community Table features recipes from 100 home cooks, local chefs and celebrities from across the Midcoast. Interwoven with the recipes are portraits and stories from Meals on Wheels recipients and volunteers taken by acclaimed photographer Patrisha McLean.

The Community Table cookbook includes family recipes from Richard Russo, Tess Gerritsen, Nancy Harmon Jenkins, Elinor Klivans, John Travolta and Kelly Preston. The cookbook also features chefs from some of the Midcoast’s best restaurants including Café Miranda, In Good Company, The Slipway, Thomaston Café, Billy’s Tavern, Suzuki’s Sushi Bar, Swans Way, Salt Water Farm and Hartstone Inn.

Thanks to the support of many local businesses who sponsored The Community Table, all cookbook sales will help MCH Meals on Wheels prepare and deliver more hot meals to seniors in our community.  Cookbook sponsors include Camden National Bank, Don & Patrisha McLean, Lyman-Morse Boatbuilding Co., Leslie Trudeau & Robert J. Fillnow, The Free Press, Black Parrot/Fog Bar & Cafe, Good Tern Natural Foods Co-op & Café, Hawthorn Inn, O’Hara Corporation and the David Scriven Crowley Gallery.
