Waldoboro — The plaque reads "In recognition for outstanding service and dedication," the Waldoboro Lions' Club designates Lou Cook as the First Stan Bailey Fellow.

On June 18, Waldoboro Lions' Club bestowed this award to Lion Cook at its annual Installation Dinner at Damariscotta Lake Farms with numerous Lions and guests present.

Lion Cook is a 14-year member of the Waldoboro Lions' Club, serving as King Lion, Lion Tamer and co-director of the Lion-sponsored Waldoboro Food Pantry. The presentation was made by King Lion Tom Jordan, who described Cook as a hardworking and dedicated member of the Lions' Club and an effective leader of the food pantry.

Cook accepted the award and thanked the club for the honor.

In addition to the plaque, the Lions' Club gave a $1,000 check to the Waldoboro Food Pantry in Cook's name. Cook also accepted the check on behalf of the food pantry.
