"Consider the Conversation" to be shown Thursday

By Waldo County General Hospital | Apr 16, 2014

On Thursday, April 17, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., “Consider the Conversation,” a documentary on end-of-life issues will be shown at the Education Center at the Hospital.

Following the film, there will be a question and answer time led by Dr. Deborah Peabody, who is the medical advisor for the hospice services at Waldo County Home Healthcare Services.

While most people agree that it’s important to talk about your end-of-life care and to put your wishes in writing, less than 25 percent of the population has done so.

“Consider the Conversation” is designed to help people begin the conversation about their wishes for end of life care.

Advance directives give individuals control over the healthcare they receive and the ability to name an individual to speak for them if they cannot speak for themselves.

Advance directive materials will be available at the showing.

   FMI, call 930-2570 or 548- 6147.
