Concerts for little ones

Rob Duquette will perform concerts geared for children Wednesday, July 10, at 2 p.m. in the Friends Community Room of Rockland Public Library, 80 Union St. On Thursday, July 11, Duquette  will perform at 10:30 a.m. at Waldoboro Public Library, 958 Main St./Route 220; and 3 p.m. at Thomaston Public Library, 60 Main St./Route 1.

Multi-instrumentalist Duquette’s music features re-arranged classics and many playful original songs carrying messages on topics that range from teeth brushing to being kind. He sings and performs on ukulele, guitar, xylophone and many percussion instruments from around the globe.

A full-time music educator and composer since 1998, Duquette maintains an active gigging career splitting most of his time between Boston, Portland and his own Gameroom Studios in Saco, where he teaches drums, percussion and guitar. A classically trained percussionist, he also teaches World Music, African Drumming and American Popular Music at the University of New England.
