Computer Solutions employee becomes Certified Apple Technician
Rockland — Jill Robinson had spent much of her professional life as a sales associate for a magazine company when she joined the staff at Computer Solutions in May 2012.
Having left her 15-year career, Robinson had visions of helping people with their computer problems.
“People always seem to ask me if they can’t figure out something with their computer, and I seem to have a knack for fixing it," Robinson said in a news release.
She spent the first three months of her career at Computer Solutions as a technician in training before being promoted to customer manager.
“Jill’s a people person. She enjoys interacting with people and helping them solve their computer problems. The technician position we hired her for was more about turning a screwdriver and interacting with machines. Together, we discussed Jill’s needs and decided she would be much better suited dealing with people face to face," said owner Todd Gustafson.
Even through the transition to customer manager, Robinson worked on her goal of becoming a Certified Apple Technician. In July of this year, Robinson completed the training and passed the required exams to become an official Apple Certified Macintosh Technician.
“I am pleased that I was able to complete the Apple training and pass the exams! Though I changed job positions during that process, I was very lucky to have the support and encouragement from the entire Computer Solutions team to complete the training. I feel that having this certification does allow me to better assist our customers’ needs, as well as focus on the mission of our company “to bridge the gap between people and technology”. I hope to be able to complete other Apple training courses down the road," she said.
