Community Schools at Opportunity Farm and Camden to host annual meeting, open house
The Community Schools at Opportunity Farm and Camden will host their 2012 Annual Meeting on the afternoon of Saturday, October 20 at their Opportunity Farm campus in New Gloucester. A Camden Open House will be scheduled later in the school year.
The Community Schools at Opportunity Farm and Camden were established in 2011 through the successful merger of The Community School and Opportunity Farm and currently serve over 65 Maine students.
The schools offer two core programs which culminate in the awarding a high school diploma from the State of Maine: a nine month Residential Program for students who have not found success in traditional school settings, and a home-based Passages Program for teen parents.
Both programs focus on academic and life skills and both provide students with the skills and experience necessary to discover their strengths, connect with their families, practice personal responsibility, and contribute to their communities.
The 2012 Annual Meeting will include student presentations, brief program updates and an awards ceremony, as well as time for touring the campus and enjoying light appetizers in the company of new students, staff, board members, volunteers, friends and neighbors.
