True, Jannika and baby Liam Bragg had to escape from the second floor shortly after midnight May 15.

Union — The Midcoast will come together to dance and raise funds Saturday night, May 31, at the Thompson Community Center, 51 South Union Road/Route 235. Doors will open 7 p.m. and popular local band Creatures of Habit will begin playing at 8 p.m.

Suggested donation is $10 per person for the BYOB event, open to those age 21 and older.

Schooner Bay Taxi is providing two taxis, which will be available at no cost to assist with everyone getting home safely.

There will be a 50/50 raffle and more, with all proceeds going directly to Greg and Trina Rollins of Rockport; and True, Jannika and Liam Bragg of Searsmont. Both families lost their homes to fire on May 15. Organizers encourage community members to rally together and help these local families recover and rebuild.

Courier Publications’ A&E Editor Dagney C. Ernest can be reached at (207) 594-4401, ext. 115; or dernest@courierpublicationsllc.com.

Greg and Trina Rollins also lost their home in the wee hours. Greg is a lieutenant of the Rockport Fire Department.
