Children's Museum holds tag sale Oct. 22

ROCKLAND -- A tag sale to benefit the Coastal Children’s Museum will be held Saturday, Oct. 22, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 13 Melrose Circle North.

Those wishing to donate items in good condition for the tag sale should contact Linda Ward at 542-7647 for information on drop-off times. All proceeds will benefit the Coastal Children’s Museum, 75 Mechanic St.

Church holds craft supply sale Oct. 22

WALDOBORO -- Broad Bay Congregational, UCC, 941 Main St., holds a craft supply sale Saturday, Oct. 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Participating church members will have their own tables (all proceeds go to Broad Bay), so pricing will vary, with plenty of potential for bargaining. One church member is offering free instruction sheets for dozens of craft projects.

Throughout the sale, muffins and breakfast/brunch sandwiches, as well as coffee and other beverages, will be available.

First Baptist harvest hayride set for Oct. 22

WALDOBORO -- First Baptist Church holds its harvest hayride Saturday, Oct. 22, from noon to 3 p.m. There will also be a food sale, as well as free candy. That morning, the church will hold 5K and 10K races, and a kids' fun run. The races start at 9 a.m.

Talk on symbolism of gravestones slated for Oct. 27

ST. GEORGE -- Ellen Dyer will speak to the St. George Historical Society Thursday, Oct. 27, at 7:30 p.m. in the grange hall, Wiley's Corner Road. Dyer will present an illustrated talk on what can be learned about a community by carefully studying its gravestones. A potluck supper will be held at 6:30.

Everyone is invited. There is no charge, but donations will be gratefully accepted. For more information call James Skoglund 372-8893. If you call, speak to the machine or he won’t pick up and answer.

Mid-Coast Audubon holds birdseed fundraiser

DAMARISCOTTA -- The Mid-Coast Chapter of the Maine Audubon Society is holidng its annual birdseed fundraiser. Order by Oct. 30 by contacting Seedsale Sue at and putting "birdseed' in the subject line of your email, or call 380-1370. Pickup is Saturday, Nov. 5, from 10 a.m. to noon at Plants Unlimited, Route 1, Rockport.
