From Foe to Friend

HOPE — The Hope Historical Society's annual meeting will be held Tuesday, Oct. 18, at the Hope Corner Fire Station. It will begin at 6 p.m. with a potluck supper (bring your own place setting and a pot luck dish to share). The business session with election of officers will start at 7 p.m. At approximately 7:30 p.m., Historian Hank Lunn will discuss From Foe to Friend, the story of German prisoners of war on the Lunn farm in Littleton. The public is welcome to this event.

Pumpkin painting

ROCKPORT — Stop by the Rockport Public Library on Thursday, Oct. 20, at 3:30 p.m. to paint pumpkins with Children’s Librarian Ben Odgren. Pumpkins and painting supplies will be provided.

Camden Area Seniors lunch

ROCKPORT — On Thursday, Oct. 27, at 11 a.m., the Camden Area Senior Citizens will meet for lunch at the Off Shore Restaurant. Good food, good company and what more could you ask for?

Next month on Nov. 17, the group will be back to the Masonic Lodge at 10 a.m. for election of officers, dues and planning the program. Then it will be followed by a Thanksgiving dinner.

Seed sale

The Mid-Coast Audubon Annual Birdseed Sale Fundraiser is under way. Order by Sunday, Oct. 30 by contacting Seedsale Sue at subject BIRDSEED or 380-1370. Pick up is Saturday, Nov. 5 from 10 a.m. to noon at Plants Unlimited, Route 1 in Rockport.
