Knox County Flying Club breakfast

OWLS HEAD — The Knox County Flying Club hosts breakfast Saturday, July 26, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Pancakes, juice, coffee for $5, all you can eat. All benefits go to promote flying in the Midcoast.The breakfast will be held at Downeast Air, 19 Airport Road, Owls Head.

UNION — Musical storyteller Jennifer Armstrong presents Sody Salyratus: songs and stories that fizz and boom accompanied by fiddle, banjo, dancing puppet, and bagpipe. Applications available for Maine Wild Blueberry Queen pageant

UNION — The Maine Wild Blueberry Queen serves as an ambassador for Maine's wild blueberry industry. She will appear in various statewide parades, special and charitable events, not to mention participating in the Union Fair and Maine Wild Blueberry Festival, Aug. 16-23. Crowning of the Wild Blueberry Queen has been an annual tradition at the Union Fair for more than 50 years.

Contestants must be a single young lady and a high school graduate, 17 to 22 years of age, a Maine resident and available for appearances during the year.

40 Days of Summer enters week six

THOMASTON — Thomaston Public Library's 40 Days of Summer kids' program enters Week Six, which celebrates Art!

The program, organized around weekly themes, features daily activities and events, a story or two, and some fun in the sun, including a picnic lunch outside, weather permitting. Each day's fun happens between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Art Week activities include finger-painting, watercolor painting, fun with acrylics, tie-dying, and creating giant, colorful murals. There will be plenty of outdoor exercise time too. Come run through the sprinkler (kids can bring a dry change of clothes if they like), twirl the hula-hoops, and load up the squirt guns.

Medomak Valley High School Class of 1994 reunion

WALDOBORO — The Medomak Valley High School Class of 1994 will hold its 20th class reunion Saturday, Aug. 23, at 5 p.m. at Damariscotta Lake Farm in Jefferson.
