Benefit supper, auction
WARREN — A benefit supper and auction will be held Saturday, July 19, from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at Warren Odd Fellows Hall, located on the corner of Routes 1 and 90 in Warren.The benefit is for Dorothy Benner, on behalf of the late Arnold Benner. The benefit will help defray some of the financial obligations of putting him to rest.
Dinner includes lasagna, meatballs, mac 'n cheese, baked beans, breads, salads, pies and more. There will also be a silent auction and raffles. The cost is $8 for adults, $4 for children 12 and younger and free for those under a year old. For more information, call Liz at 691-0710.
TENANTS HARBOR — The Jackson Memorial Library annual Book Fair is Saturday July 19, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., as a part of the St. George Day celebrations.
Original art has been donated from artists such as Lydia Kaeyer, Charles DuBack, Phoebe Bly and Ed Botnick. The Silent Auction and Art Raffle will be conducted by Lawrence B. Crabmeat Roll Luncheon to support Masons
TENANTS HARBOR — Eureka Lodge 84 AF&AM, assisted by Naomi Chapter 25 OES, invites the public to enjoy the second summer crabmeat roll luncheon at the Masonic Hall in Tenants Harbor, Wednesday July 23, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Lunch will consist of a crabmeat roll made with locally-caught and processed crabmeat, chips, a homemade dessert square and a beverage (coffee, decaf or lemonade). Chicken salad rolls will be available as an alternative.
Proceeds from the lunch will be put toward the continuing effort to rehabilitate the Tenants Harbor Masonic Hall, and to the charitable activities of the Lodge. The third lunch of the summer season will be offered at the same time, Wednesday, Aug. 13.
Tai Chi sessions
THOMASTON — The public is invited to sessions of the Kennebec Taijiquan Association is held at the Thomaston Public Library on Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m.
These sessions provide participants the opportunity to learn a T'ai C'hi long form and to practice it with others who enjoy taijiquan.

Golden Opportunity Golf
UNION — Founders Day Weekend, July 19-20, is the chance to play the members-only course at the Union Country Club. Green fees are $15 per person and will be donated to Vose Library. Union Country Club is a par 3 course with nine holes. Although the course is not long, players will find it challenging.
Make a whisk broom
UNION — Karen Koch will teach participants how to make a whisk broom Monday, July 21, at 6:30 p.m. at Vose Library. Koch learned traditional Appalachian-style broom making at the Augusta Heritage Center at Davis Elkins College in Elkins, W.V. from Carlson Tuttle. The course is limited to six participants. THOMASTON — The Thomaston Public Library is hosting an evening with Maine conservation biologist Geri Vistein, whose slide show and talk will focus on large predators and their prey and how they maintain a healthy balance in nature. The talk is Wednesday, July 23, at 7 p.m.

ROCKLAND — A pig roast will be held Saturday, July 26, from noon to 4 p.m. at American Legion Post 1 on Limerock Street. The cost is $12 per person and proceeds benefit veteran's programs.
