Dinner to support wrestling program

ROCKPORT — A public supper to support local wrestling teams will be held Saturday, March 15, 5 to 6:30 p.m. at Rockport Masonic Lodge.

Menu includes spaghetti, rolls, drinks, dinner and dessert. Tickets are $8 adults, $5 children 12 years old and younger, or $20 for a family of four.

Proceeds benefit Mid Coast Wrestling Club.

Nativity Lutheran Hosts Prayer Vigil March 15

ROCKPORT — Nativity Lutheran Church, A Place of New Beginnings, 179 Old County Road, Rockport, will host its annual Lenten Prayer Vigil Saturday, March 15, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The community is invited to stop in for prayer and meditation any time during these hours. Devotional materials will be available. There will be a brief prayer service at noon, led by Pastor Jerry LiaBraaten.

Public supper series begins at Aldersgate

ROCKLAND — Aldersgate United Methodist Church, located on Route 17, across from Chickawaukie Pond, opens its seasonal public supper series Saturday, March 22 and continue serving on the fourth Saturday of each month through October, at 5 p.m.

For the second year, the proceeds will benefit a different community agency each month. March proceeds will go to the Homeless Coalition of Knox County, Hospitality House. The only homeless shelter in the Midcoast, it has recently reopened with an emphasis on families with children. Housing for men is being provided at area motels.
