Lincolnville Center Flea Market
LINCOLNVILLE — The Lincolnville Center Flea Market will be held Saturday, Oct. 19, from 8 a.m. to noon in the Community Building located at 18 Searsmont Road, Route 173, in Lincolnville Center.
This is the season's finale for this newly established flea market.
There is a vast array of merchandise being offered including antiques, select Christmas decorations, sports equipment, craft supplies, household items, and delicious homemade desserts baked by the Donut Lady from Washington. The United Christian Church will be selling furniture and three antique beds: a brass double bed, a tiger maple four posted bed, and a 1930s cottage-style twin bed.
This event is sponsored by the United Christian Church to generate funds to maintain the Community Building for church and town use. For further information, call Mary Schulien at 785-3521. The Community Building is handicapped accessible. All welcome.
Fall Harvest Festival and Tag Sale
ROCKPORT — The Fall Harvest Festival and Tag Sale at Nativity Lutheran Church is back again by popular demand Saturday, Oct. 19, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The seventh year is bigger and better than ever with crafts, baked goods, preserves, and cafe. The Ladies Boutique has a wide assortment of ladies accessories, just the right things to complete thatensemble. Take a look at the silent auction, and put in a bid on the items. Don't forget to head to the lower level where the basement is full of clean, gently used items for your home, recreation, and general enjoyment.
From 12:30 to 1 p.m., everything left in the tag sale will be half price.
Try Qi Gog on Saturdays in Thomaston
THOMASTON — Tim English is back at the Thomaston Public Library for his second year leading a free class in Qi Gong.
Qi Gong is a traditional Chinese exercise with roots in traditional Chinese medicine, martial arts, and philosophy. The practice of Qi Gong aligns breath, movement, and awareness and calms the mind. It is said to strengthen the immune system as well as help with balance and flexibility.
Class is held Saturdays from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Thomaston Academy's gym. Qi Gong is beneficial to people of all ages, and no experience is required to attend. Comfortable clothing should be worn for the gentle, graceful practice of Qi Gong.

Fisher Engineering holds breast cancer awareness promotion
ROCKLAND — Fisher Engineering, manufacturer of FISHER snow and ice control equipment, announces a new promotion to support breast cancer awareness.
In conjunction with October Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Fisher Engineering has made available a special limited-edition pink lift arm kit. This kit will be available for purchase through FISHER snowplow dealer locations.
For every kit purchased, Fisher will make a $50 donation to the Maine Breast Cancer Coalition in support of or in memory of a person of the retail customer’s choosing.
