McIlwain to speak in St. George
ST. GEORGE — On Thursday, Aug. 29, at 7 p.m. at the new Jackson Memorial Library, the public is invited to a program entitled West and East in Conversation: A Meeting of Buddhist thought with Jung's Analytical Psychology.
The program features John McIlwain, a visiting teacher of Buddhist meditation and Alden Josey, a speaker in an annual series on Jungian psychology. Tag Sale to benefit mission program

Union Masonic Lodge public supper
UNION — A public supper will be held Friday, Sept. 6, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Union Masonic Lodge 31.
There will be a chicken barbecue, corn on the cob, macaroni and potato salad and pie for dessert. The cost is $10 per adult, $5 children.
Benefit supper for Guarneri
ROCKLAND — There will be a benefit supper for Sherry Guarneri of Rockland, who works in the Emergency Department at Pen Bay Medical Center.
It will be held Saturday, Sept. 21, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the American Legion Hall on Limerock Street. Spaghetti is on the menu and a silent auction will also be held. The cost is $5 for adults, $3 for children.
