Collision sends boat into Waldoboro intersection
Waldoboro — A truck hauling a boat on a trailer was hit at the intersection in Waldoboro Village by another truck on Thursday morning, according to Waldoboro police.
The boat and trailer overturned, and the boat temporarily blocked the travel lane at 10:15 a.m., said Officer Sean Kozer. The driver of the truck carrying the boat was under the age of 18. That truck, a red 1997 Ford F-150, was heading downhill on Main Street (traveling west).
Tyler Segal of Portland was driving a 2007 white Ford F-150. He was at the intersection of Jefferson Street and Main Street, and went through the stop sign on his way to Friendship Street before the truck and boat cleared the intersection, according to police. He struck the truck and boat trailer.
Kozer said he cleared the scene at 11:06 a.m., after Hillside Collision removed the damaged boat and trailer. Members of the Waldoboro Fire Department assisted at the scene.
