Coastal florals in adult art workshops
Rockland — Local artist Catinka Knoth will give a series of free drawing classes on depicting Maine coastal floral scenes Monday mornings in July at Rockland Public Library, 80 Union St. Classes meet in the downstairs Friends Community Room at 11 a.m.
The first session will revisit Knoth's painting "Lupine at Mosquito Harbor, Martinsville" Participants will create art using pencils, colored pencils, crayons and scissors, with an emphasis on drawing in color. Knoth will give instruction and guidance. She invites students of all levels to come make art in this communal and diverse environment.
Each week will continue to offer a different scene to explore: July 14, “Rosa Rugosa — Beach Roses by the Maine Seashore"; July 21, "Oriental Poppies in an Early Summer Garden"; and July 28, “Daisies by Marshall Point Light."
Knoth provides the classes free of charge, with materials supplied. Friends of Rockland Library host the workshops, which are open to the public.
