Co-op consultants to visit Good Tern

Dec 02, 2013

Rockland — On select Saturday mornings through the winter, the Good Tern Cafe is open for intentional conversation about homeopathy, herbs and nutrition.

The Co-op Consultants are working co-op members who wish to share knowledge in their field of expertise with shoppers of the co-op. This is a designated time to bring questions, thoughts and interest on the current topic. The morning begins at 10 a.m. with a brief, specific presentation followed by general conversation on the subject until 11:30 a.m. Attendees are also welcome to bring their own books to better understand them.

Kelly Callahan practices Classical Homeopathy, a holistic modality that addresses both acute and chronic conditions, as well as disease prevention and overall wellness and vitality. Callahan owns and operates Concentric Healing in Appleton, where she lives with her family.

Jillian Kelsey-Rose's practice incorporates a strong foundation in Traditional European Herbalism and Naturopathic philosophy. She believes deeply that experiences are opportunities for growth and connection, and enjoys working with people throughout the deeper journeys they are walking in their lives. Kelsey-Rose is with Avena Botanicals in Rockport.

Tara Hire believes that by looking at lifestyle, work, daily habits, food choices, and the overall person we can create the life we want. Health and wellness are not just about diet and exercise, but also about one's outlook on life, social interactions, interactions with ourselves, and finding balance. Hire has a bachelor's degree in human nutrition, a masters degree in Holistic Nutrition and is a Certified Health Coach who has studied with Dr. Weil and Deepak Chopra. She is a member of the American Association of Drugless Practitioners and has been studying and practicing nutrition for more than 20 years.

The Co-op Consultants December schedule is as follows:

Dec. 7: Remedies for the Holidays with Callahan.

Dec. 14: Herbs to Ease Holiday Stress with Kelsey-Rose.

Dec. 14: Easy and Healthy Side Dishes with Hire (recipes available to take home).
