Clark Island inspired art at the Highlands

A triptych in oil is among the paintings by Katharine Cartwright on view this month at the Highlands Coffee House in Thomaston.

Thomaston — During the month of June, Spruce Head artist Katharine Cartwright is exhibiting paintings inspired by Clark Island at the Highlands Coffee House, Main Street/Route 1.

In addition to her internationally recognized body of work titled The Laws of Nature, Cartwright has spent a decade interpreting the natural environment of Clark Island near her home. Cartwright is a signature member of the National Watercolor Society, the North East Watercolor Society and the Missouri Watercolor Society. Her work appears in hundreds of corporate and private collections worldwide.
