Church on the dock planned for Port Clyde
Port Clyde — The Port Clyde Advent Christian Church extends an invitation for its annual open air Sunday worship service Church on the Dock to be held Sunday, Sept. 23 at 11 a.m. on the Monhegan Line Boat dock in Port Clyde. New Pastor Randall Thissell will lead the service and sharing from God’s Word. Refreshments will be provided.
Pastor Randall is originally from Salem, Conn. and is a graduate of Moody Bible Institute in Chicago. Most recently, he has studied at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in South Hamilton, Mass. Prior to training for ministry Randall worked in carpentry for more than a decade, mostly building post and beam out buildings. He comes to Port Clyde with his wife of 12 years, Mercedes, and their two daughters, Evie, 6, and Lily, 3. Randall has lived on the east coast, west coast, southwest, and in the mid-west.
Pastor Randall has lived in cities and in the country, but small town New England has always been nearest to his heart. Randall is excited to minister the gospel of Jesus Christ in the community and desires first and foremost to proclaim salvation found in Jesus alone, through his death on the cross in the place of those who would believe in him. It is Randall's goal every Sunday to open up the word of God and to explain the scriptures so that they may be understood and obeyed.
Please come by on Sunday, Sept. 23 for a time of worship and reflection on the dock and meet the new pastor and his family.
