Christopher E. Carter
Cushing — Christopher E. "CC" Carter, 58, died Feb. 14, 2014, at his home in Cushing.
Born in Norfolk, Va., May 10, 1955, he was the son of Kenneth E. and Betty Eaton Carter.
After graduating from high school, he entered the U.S. Navy. Following his discharge in 1976, he settled in Brooklin before moving to Cushing.
He worked many years in the lobster and fishing industries. A jack of all trades, he also worked at many odd jobs, most recently creating nautical and whimsical pieces from wood.
He enjoyed fishing, boating, gardening, woodworking and riding his Harley.
Predeceased by his parents, he is survived by his fiance, JoAnn Grenier of Cushing; daughter Khristy M. Carter of Warren; two sons Jeremiah S. Carter of Amherst, N.H., Robin C. Carter of Sorrento; step-daughter, Kelly Hinkley of Cushing; step-son Bruce O'Clair II of Union; sisters Laurie Gray and her husband Jerry, Karen Larkin and her husband Brian, all of Brooklin, Kimberly Proulx and her husband Brian of Lowell, Mass.; and two grandchildren, as well as many extended family in the Brooklin area.
A memorial service will be held at the Rockland American Legion Hall and will be announced.
