On Tuesday, April 29, at 5:30 p.m., also part of The Arts…for Kids & their Families series , Dena Davis, founder and director of Stories by the Sea, will continue the series of workshops called Family Stories: Families Writing Together. This writing program is designed for families with children ages 8 and up.

Wednesday, April 30, at 10:30 a.m. is the kickoff for a series of five Wednesday morning workshops for children ages 3 years and under, with their parents or caregivers. The Family Place Libraries Play with Me program’s goal is to engage the children in activities that help strengthen their motor and social skills as well as encouraging early literacy. These workshops are held in the Community Room of the library, and filled with new toys and books for the occasion. Children get a chance to play with each other and parents have an opportunity to share experiences and concerns with volunteer community resource professionals. Signing up for this program encouraged.

All Rockland Public Library programs are free. For more information concerning these events, please contact Jean Young at either 594-0310 or email jyoung@ci.rockland.me.us.
