Children’s Museum seeks presenters
Rockland — Coastal Children’s Museum is calling for proposals from artists, performers and children’s programs for children age 2 to 9. Organizations and groups are encouraged to present an idea for a workshop, a series of workshops, a performance or a informational setting appropriate for young children and in line with the museum’s mission to explore, discover and learn through play about the natural world, the arts and sciences and the diversity of Maine’s coast.
“There are so many talented people and professionals in this area that I know could offer our visitors and members so much, said Program Coordinator Megan Rogers. “The hard part is tracking them all down; word of mouth and Google can only help so much.”
In particular, the museum is keen to host science and movement programs for young children. Those crafting proposals should make sure to include the following information: name of organization or group; name of presenter, first and last; email address; phone number; physical address; current employer/ occupation; ages program is specifically designed for; summary of idea or activity; length and proposed area of the museum to be used; focus or theme of the program, i.e., Art, Movement, Science, Literacy, Culture, Health & Wellness etc.; if the program/activity has been presented in the past; experience with children birth to age 9 and their families; standard performance rate and whether the museum will be offered a discount or a modified rate.
Proposals can be emailed to email@example.com or sent to the Coastal Children’s Museum, 75 Mechanic St., Rockland, ME o4841 for the attention of Megan Rogers. Potential presenters also may fill out the form on the museum’s website at coastalchildrensmuseum.org.
