Children invited to act out fairy tales at Rockland Public Library

Dec 20, 2013

Rockland — Rockland Public Library will offer a special family program Sunday, Jan. 12, from 2 to 4 p.m. called Play Acting with Mother Goose Rhymes and Fairy Tales.

Part of a new series, The Arts...for Kids & their Families, this program is designed for all to play. Participants will choose, and act out a fairy tale or rhyme, using masks and costumes. A musician will be available to enhance the experience.

Debby Atwell, children’s book author and illustrator, will facilitate the event. Babies and toddlers are welcome and will not be required to act. Everyone else, however, ought to be willing to play a princess or a wolf or a pig or a bear, unless they have an excused note from their doctor. No parts too small.

For more information, contact Jean Young at 594-0310 or Debby Atwell at 542-0606.
